This crochet maxi dress has been on my mind for quite some time but as it was winter and then a very “winter like” spring, I hesitated to get mhook into it for a while.

As soon as I found this knitcraft cotton blend yarn, I knew exactly what it was going to make.

The yarn is so soft against the skin, silky and breathable, it has all the texture and organic feel of a cotton yarn with that bouncy slightly stretchy feel of an acrylic yarn. Its perfect!

It can be made using any dk yarn and 5mm hook

This is the perfect stash buster pattern, using very little yarn for all sizes.
The dress is designed to be light and floaty, perfect for summer months. Made in cotton but can be switched up with acrylic/wool yarn for a winter dress.

The stitches used make any colours mix well and blend perfectly into the design. This would also look stunning in sold block colours.

Finding alternative yarn…

100% cotton yarns can be used. However, this will have less ease and stretch than the yarn used. You may wish to make the next size up in pattern in this case.

Acrylic yarn may also be used but acrylic yarn has upto 4 X the ease. When blocking your project the garment could become too large.

Please take this into account and maybe size down 1-2 sizes in pattern.
