I am in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! This Chunky crochet sweater fits like a glove and is unlike any other crochet sweater free pattern I have seen.
There are so many styles, stitches and yarn combinations to try, I really wanted to design something different that would be super comfortable and stylish.
Maybe it was a bit of a risk to use the basket weave stitch, usually used for soft furnishings and blankets! It was worth it!
The texture is beautiful, it goes so well with the muted autumn colours of James C Bretts marble chunky yarn. I am already thinking my mini me has to have one and maybe I NEED one in another colour.
The chunky crochet sweater pattern I am sharing with you today, is perfect for autumn/winter with its autumn colours and chunky basket weave stitch combination. Economical to work up as the yarn comes in 200g skeins, I was super happy when all of these factors came together and my sweater design became reality.

Yarn inspiration!
I have chosen to use James C Brett marble chunky yarn in colour MC7 for this chunky crochet sweater .
This has been my go to yarn for a number of projects – Check out my Boho festival hoodie. It comes in an assortment of rustic colours and in large 200g skeins.
James C Brett marble chunky is machine washable, durable, warm and soft to touch. Has a decent amount of stretch and is lovely to work with.
Suggested hook size is 6mm.
