Winter walks easy crochet poncho
Winter walks easy crochet poncho, beautifully textured, practical and super cosy!
A pattern that would suit any skill set.
I like to create my patterns with ease in mind so anyone can try them out.
Using repeat stitches over alternate rows creates a beautiful texture that gives this poncho its cosy, breathable fabric.
Designed with a ribbed hem and large turtle neck, this poncho will be worn many times in the colder months where you don’t need to sacrifice style over practicality!
I looooove working with Hayfield with tweed wool, it never fails to give my project that premium, timeless look and is so budget friendly! It comes in huge 400g skeins and an aran weight which is perfect for those quick and chunky designs.
There are quite a few gorgeous colours to select from and any of them would work well with this project. The tweed flecks give this easy crochet poncho a rustic, homespun edge that makes it perfect for wearing on those muddy and long winter walks.

Handy little kit for all future projects!
I use this handy little kit for all of my projects. It has everything I need and the ergonomic handles are really comfortable to work with – not to bulky! I can take it anywhere and have a selection of hook sizes, markers and needles on hand. I have added these cute little scissors to the collection and they are still as sharp as the day I bought them over a year ago!

I have made this pattern as simple as possible so it is suitable for anyone to try out. The main body is worked using only single crochet and double crochet stitches.
The bottom rib is made using half double crochet, Front post half double crochet and back post half double crochet stitches. I have added a diagram with instructions on how to do these special stitches.
If you are a beginner and struggling to do the post stitches, you can do rows of Half double crochet to give a nice neat hem and follow on with the body section.
