There are thousands of designs out there and it’s a little daunting to decide on which one to work up with so many to choose from.
I thought I would make your search a little bit easier and have found my collection of summer crochet top patterns based on 3 things

Lets start with some of my favourite crochet tank top patterns.
These are easy patterns with basic stitches and should work up in no time. They are a staple in Summer, I imagine these will be a must for a quick project definately something you would get a lot of wear out of.
Easy crochet tank top by TCDDIY. I love how this tank top looks knitted, this is a great tutorial for a basic tank top with lots of style. There are full construction photos to help you along.
Beginner crochet top by For the frills. Perfect for the beginner to make a cute little tank. This pattern comes with a video tutorial and can be customised to any size and length.
Chasing Summer top by KnitsNKnots. Neutral tank top which would go with anything. I love this tank as it has a rustic country feel to it. Great tutorial with lots of info and explanation to work up withh ease.
Open back crochet tank top by Cactus and Lace Designs. This tank is gorgeous. Its a pattern packed full of texture and charm. It is a backless design but I think you could easily change it up to be a tank the same on the back as the front.
Casual crochet top pattern by Beautiful crochet stuff. I will probably make this for myself as a Yoga top. There is a video tutorial with this pattern and its very easy. Basic stitches and would look great in any colour.
Bohemian crochet tops
Summer wouldn’t be Summer without some Bohemian flair. Casual and vintage like these Bohemian tops never go out of style. It was so hard to choose just a few but I think you’ll agree, you want to make one of these tops, NOW!
Bohemain poncho by Make and do crew. This looks so comfortable to wear and the pattern as always by make and do crew is written well and easy to follow.
Boho tank top by Hooked on home happiness. The granny square is so underrated, You can use them to make anything! Whip up some granny squares in cotten yarn and make this stunning Bohemian top. Simple easy to follow pattern and the end result is better than anything you can find in a store!
Modest Princess Summer top by My accessory box. I am obsessed with this design because of how loose and breezy it looks. It can be made in a variety of sizes so I can make one for my mini me and I. Nice easy crochet stitches used in combination to make this gorgeous top.
Breezy cover up by Megmade with Love. Summer means Beaches, parks and well, being under the hot Sun. We will all need a cover up, right? Full tutorial with this pattern so follow a long and you’ll be basking pretty wherever you go this Summer.
Over the rainbow top dress by Peanut and Plum. The perfect stash buster, uses very little yarn! simple and easy to make crochet dress that can be made to fit any size or length. Floaty and breathable made with cotton yarn
Crochet Beach cover up patterns
The Beach cover up collection! Saving the best till last! I tend to wear these all day if I am at the Beach so I can never have enough. These have so much style and can be worn anywhere. The combinations of colour you could use is endless. Practical and pretty what more could you ask for!
Weekender cover up by Pattern paradise. I love the colours used for this design, I would probably like to replicate it exactly as it is. Doubling up as a tunic top or Beach cover up, this handy little pattern would make a great gift…to yourself, obviously!
Sea Breeze cover up by Katerina. Effortlessly cool and breezy with a stunning colour gradient. Use a smaller hook if you would like it less transparent. Well written pattern that is versatile and dreamy.
Summer breeze cover up by Raffamusa designs. A simple design that an be altered for any length and width. Triangle and lace stitches are used to give this cover up a beautiful relaxed feel.
Sea isle tunic by I like crochet. This tunic could be worn as a cover up or just a cute Summertime Tank top. Made in multiple sizes with special stitch explanations
