Quick and easy crochet headbands/ear warmer
A really simple project that can be completed in 2 hours or less.
Its retro design is timeless and yarn can be adjusted to suit winter and warmer months.
Made with the alpine stitch giving a beautiful defined texture that is dense and stretchy with plenty of warmth. Pattern has been written with picture stitch tutorial (video is also available, details in pattern)
Pattern written in US terms in sizes 3 – 6 months
Circumference in inches 3-6months 15”
All of my patterns are designed with comfort and style in mind. I make my patterns easy to follow with picture stitch tutorials to help those who are new to the stitches used.
I’m sure I am not alone when I say I have ALOT of yarn breaking out of my drawers, cupboards, anywhere I can cram it in!
I promised myself before I get anymore I would find some uses for the HUGE amount that I have and wanted a quick stash buster project to use all those small amounts that I just couldn’t bring myself to throw away!
At the same time we have been quite busy in and out of the warmth, shopping, visiting family, the usual madness of life as a single mum with two beautiful babies.
Alice AKA Plum has a real problem keeping her beanie hats on, especially in the car where she gets a bit warmer and wants to take it off.
They end up everywhere! Under the seats, in the boot, my mums or the supermarket!
So I thought a headband would be more suitable for her as she could leave it on and it would be a cute accessory to add to her outfits. I could make one in various colours, using my stash and letting her choose one to wear each day!
It worked up so quickly and I love the texture of the alpine stitch. It has a real nice dense feel with plenty of stretch.
I made 3 in one evening! feeling a real sense of satisfaction as my little balls of yarn were being used up 🙂
My little 2 year old is quite the princess and loves to put on accessories when getting ready. It made her really excited to have quite a choice and SHE KEPT IT ON all afternoon!
