I make lots of items as gifts and my kids have plenty of makes by Mummy.

Not only can you get it the perfect size, colour and fibre by doing it yourself, You end up with an item totally unique and custom made to your own taste - and that is STYLE that I am all for.

The first fear I had as a beginner was TIME!

It doesn't take as long as you think! I used to be daunted by clothing.

I imagined it would take too long and before I made it to the end I would mess up, forget my place, have odd sleeves or run out of yarn.

All these fears kept me sticking to the stash busters and quick projects for a long while.

The fact is once you gain some confidence and some knowledge or reading pattern terminology and material requirements, all you need is a rainy Sunday, a sprinkle of confidence and there is no stopping you!

The only problem you have then is that you want to make EVERYTHING and your project list becomes endless...but hey, then you get to go yarn shopping... "Oh no, right?!

Well written patterns are everything!

When I write my patterns, I try to imagine I was somebody completely new to crochet who is starting with just the basics and wants me to walk along with them all the way! That's exactly what I needed when I first started out.

A pattern with picture step by steps and videos are such a great help. They can assure you as your piece is coming together that it is turning out just as the pattern you chose - because you loved it and that's exactly how it should turn out!

Don't be afraid to contact the Designer if you are stuck! I can't vouch for everyone but I am happy to receive messages asking even the most simple things that might not make sense in the pattern. That's why I design and share my designs....So you can make them your own!

I wanted to share a selection of timeless cardigans and kimonos that can be made time and time again, changing your yarn to create a completely new look each time.

I also wanted to make sure that these patterns were easy to follow so that once you try your first one you will be excited to try another!
